Fly Tamagotchi

A pet fly whose eating is decided by wiring rather than a rule. A phone tap is sugar, a shake is bitter, and the fly feeds only when the proboscis motor neuron MN9 passes 20 spikes per second in a re-built Shiu et al. 2024 model on FlyWire release 630. Give it both at once and it mostly refuses, which also falls out of the wiring. The authors report MN9 at 68.4 against 67.0 in the original, a shuffled-wiring brain that never eats, and a 19,698-neuron slice matching the full brain. Each state is labelled brain or game rule; hunger, light, mood and fainting are game rules.
