Fly Brain Gladiators

Two arena fighters, both driven by the same 166,700-neuron MaleCNS connectome, with nothing trained: no reinforcement learning, no reward function, no learned policy on top. The only choices made were which neurons read the arena and which swing the weapon. The browser view draws every neuron at its real soma position, so you can watch a looming stimulus cross from the LC4 and LPLC2 detectors in the optic lobes, through descending neurons, to motor neurons in the nerve cord over about 100 ms. An object's angular expansion rate sets the detector firing rate.
