FlyChain

A demonstration blockchain whose proof of work is a taste decision. Each block header hashes into a stimulus, real gustatory receptor neurons from the MaleCNS connectome are driven with it, and the resulting spike train is both the proof and the block contents: a transaction is included only if MN9, the motor neuron behind swallowing, fires — otherwise the fly spat it out. Eight flies in a row decide each block. Transactions are authorised by an ordinary secp256k1 signature over an EIP-712 digest, and connecting a wallet only changes which fly is cosmetically yours.
